Persons of law raid to post office, customs service of Moldova

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ – The lawmakers have raided on Friday morning, 19 July, at the premises of Posta Moldovei (PM) and Customs Service (SV), in a criminal case initiated on the fact of smuggling schemes with different products and commodities, including anabolic, amber, tobacco products and alcohol.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office's (PG) information and media communication service, the searches take place with the purpose of issuing confirmatory documents and papers accompanying parcels and goods (anabolic and chihilbar), "sent by smuggling schemes abroad". Also, the law enforcement officials are interested in technical support that stores electronic info and production documents at the Centre of processing and transport of post (CPTP).

The criminal case was initiated by the prosecutors on 27 June 2019, on the basis of the statements made by ex – head of CS MoldATSA within a TV programme.

The criminal prosecution group consists of prosecutors from PG, Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organised Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS), Prosecutor's Office of Chisinau (PC), prosecutors from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) and investigative officers of the Service of Intelligence and Security (SIS).
