Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ – The provision regarding the Competition Commission for selection of candidates for position of Judge of Constitutional Court (CC) by Government has been published in the Official Journal, on Friday, 19 July.
According to document, the commission will include Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, Minister of Justice, Olesea Stamate, deputy Secretary General of Government, Roman Cazan, Ombudsman, Mihail Cotorobai, Public Law Expert, Nicolae Osmochescu, PhD of law, Octavian Cazac, President of Centre of Legal Resources, Vladislav Gribincea, and Executive Director of Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), Iulian Groza.
After resignation of CC judges at the end of June, PM Maia Sandu announced that the Government would nominate 02 judges at CC by contest.
The number of twenty – four persons have submitted their files.
The CC is made up of 06 judges, appointed for a six – year term. The Parliament appoints 02 judges, Government – 02 and Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) – 02.
