Moldovan parliament speaker meets co-rapporteurs of Monitoring Committee of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral norms regarding the organization of local elections remain unchanged and the general local polls will be held according to the legislation in force. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii made statements to this effect at a today’s meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.   

The speaker made a retrospective of the events from the last months, announced the priorities of the parliamentary majority and pointed out the actions due to be undertaken for the good work of the state on the immediately next period.

The PACE co-rapporteurs for the fulfillment of the obligations and commitments assumed by Moldova, Maryvonne Blondin and Egidijus Vareikis, are on a fact-collecting visit to Moldova on 21-24 July. They will have meetings with the state’s leadership, officials of the government and parliamentary factions.
