Euro, U.S. dollar to continue cheapening against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency and the U.S. dollar will continue cheapening against the Moldovan leu, according to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

Thus, the euro on 23 July will cost 19.69 lei, by 0.05 lei less than today. The dollar will lose 0.02 lei and will have a quotation of 17.55 lei.

At the same time, the Ukrainian hryvnia will be by 0.01 leu dearer and will cost 0.68 lei.

As for the Russian rouble and Romanian leu, BNM set similar quotations to the ones for today. Thus, the Romanian leu will continue to cost 4.17 lei and the rouble - 0.27 lei.

According to data unveiled by BNM today, in last June, the Moldovan leu depreciated, in average values, by 1.2 per cent against the U.S. dollar to 18.1714 lei, against 17.9549 lei for one dollar in May 2019.
