Moldovan deputy PM meets German ambassador

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister, Vasilii Sova, has met with Angela Ganninger, Ambassador of Germany to Moldova, on Monday, 22 July, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
During the meeting, there have been discussed a number of issues related to the Transnistrian settlement process, including the current position of Chisinau in addressing the issues on the negotiation agenda.
The deputy PM has specified upon the need to concentrate efforts to achieve the main goal of negotiations, namely to identify a viable form of political regulation, respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, as well as highlighting priorities of Chisinau in negotiation process. These include: ensuring respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and free movement between both sides of the Dniester river, solving commercial and economic problems from the point of view of creating a single economic area, promoting confidence – building measures in the sphere of ensuring the rule of law, defence, resumption of negotiations on comprehensive and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian file.
Ambassador Angela Ganninger has expressed the willingness of the Federal Government to support further the regulatory process, including by facilitating organisation in perspectives a new Bavarian conference called Confidence Building Measures in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process to assess developments within the Chisinau – Tiraspol dialogue and stimulate the process.
In this context, the deputy PM called for a more active involvement of international partners in advancement of negotiation process so as to solve as quickly as possible the issues faced by inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester river and highlighted the need to finance major projects able to stimulate the real reintegration of the banks, such as implementation with the support of international partners of infrastructure project on reconstruction of the national road Chisinau – Tiraspol – Cuciurgan.
Finally, the parties reiterated the need to continue the dialogue on subjects of common interest and keep on to support activities aimed at promoting confidence – building measures among population on both sides of the Dniester.
