Moldova receives installment worth €14 mln on behalf of European Union

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova has received an installment worth €14.5 million on behalf of the European Union (EU) in the form of budget support, on Tuesday, 23 July. Finance Minister, Natalia Gavrilita, has announced info on it.

"We were announced to receive €14.5 mln as budget support. Today, we have unlocked the external assistance that comes as budget support. It is non – reimbursable budget support, permitting us to increase the fiscal space," said Gavrilita.

Also, it has been made an statement on it by the European Commission (EC), which stated that support has been given to support the implementation of the EU – Moldova Free Trade Agreement, the funding of VET programmes and implementation of the Action Plan for liberalisation of visa regime.

The total amount of EU budget support is to exceed the amount of €45 mln.
