Regional Agriculture Dialogue national campaign launched in south Moldova city

Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ -The DAR (Regional Agricultural Dialogue) national campaign, carried out within the project, Partnership for sustainable development of the rural environment from Romania and Moldova, was launched in the southern Cahul city on 23 July. The action is organized by the Association of Moldovan Business People from Everywhere (AOAMP), in cooperation with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania (MADR).
Attending the opening of the event, the state secretary general at MADRM, Iurie Usurelu, stressed that this campaign was important both for farmers from Moldova and for those of Romania. “We everybody face the situation when we must practice advanced agriculture, as the conditions of the sales markets impose us think about another type of agriculture, in order to eventually have a competitive product. We thank the organizers for the effort to initiate an important dialogue for the farmers from both banks of Prut, which will allow us actively get involved in discussions, take over and promote the best examples, in order to solve the present problems in this sector,” Iurie Usurelu noted.
In the context, the state secretary at the competent ministry from Romania, Valentin Alexandru Țachianu, reiterated the value of this form of cooperation between farmers. “I find out that the problems on this segment are similar, with the climate changes being one of the most important and which hit us everybody. They directly mark the quality and quantity of the agricultural production, or these projects initiated today represent just the beginning and they must be continued and diversified,” the Romanian official said.
According to the organizers, on 23 July – 9 August, challenges and opportunities of Moldova’s agro-food sector will be tackled within 11 regional activities, with the presentation of Romania’s experience and expertise in the development of the sector and agricultural entrepreneurial environment.
The activities schedules are aimed at facilitating the know-how and creating connections for public-private partnerships, as well as among agricultural entrepreneurs from the two neighbor countries, in order to turn to good account opportunities of investments in agriculture.
According to AOAMP, the specific sectoral agricultural realities can be brought to the public-private-associate dialogue only with the encouraging and support of agricultural entrepreneurs and participation of public authorities and institutions, as well as national and foreign partners.
The DAR campaign was launched in southern Moldova, at those three sessions (24 July – Cimislia and 25 July – Causeni); thus, agricultural entrepreneurs, mayors and interested people from the districts of Cahul, Vulcanesti, Cantemir, Taraclia, Leova, Cimislia, Basarabeasca, Stefan Voda and Causeni are expected. Subsequently, till 9 August, the campaign will reach Hancesti, Criuleni, Orhei, Straseni, Edinet, Floresti, Drochia and Ungheni.
