Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - The pre-university education institutions from the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA Gagauz-Yeri) will receive another eight million lei from the autonomy’s budget, under a decision by the executive committee from Comrat (Gagauz administrative centre).
According to the deputy governor of UTA Gagauz-Yeri, Olesea Tanasoglo, 8.14 million lei has been additionally earmarked from the region’s budget to schools, gymnasiums and lyceums. The money will be used for capital and cosmetic repairs, necessary for meeting the buildings’ sanitary and hygienic norms.
Thus, till the beginning of the new school year, the floor of the canteen from the Todur Zanet lyceum of the Congaz village is to be changed and the sanitary unit will be repaired in the Curoglo gymnasium, due to be adapted to children with special needs.
“The lyceum from Copceac received 795,000 lei for changing windows and doors, as this is the only lyceum of the region which remained with unchanged windows and doors since the Soviet period. At the lyceum from the Tomai village, we plan to completely change the roof (2.5 million lei). The overall cost of the project is of five million lei; yet, with half of this money, we will manage to carry out the most important part of the works, so that the roof does not leak and the institution is able to start working on 1 September,” Olesea Tanasoglo said, cited by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.
Also, a lyceum from Comrat will benefit from financing, where several new classrooms are planned to be opened. Out of the aforementioned sum, 2.23 million lei will be allocated for the arrangement and endowment of the chemistry, physics and biology rooms with the needed equipment; one million lei will be used to buy computers and 600,000 lei – for interactive tables.
In last June, the authorities of the Gagauz autonomy informed that three incomplete schools, having less than 90 pupils, would get money for work. Thus, according to a decision by the People’s Assembly of UTA Gagauz-Yeri, the school from Bugeac will receive 738,800 lei, the one from Cotovscoe – 414,300 lei and an institution from Ferapontievca – 990,500 lei.
