Deputy head of EPP group in European parliament reiterates EU's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Moldova

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ – During a working visit to Brussels, Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, had a meeting with deputy head of the European People's Party /EPP/ in the European Parliament /EP/ and a member of delegation to the Parliamentary Commission on Association EU – Moldova, Siegfried Muresan.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, PM Maia Sandu congratulated Siegfried Muresan with the new position within the EPP group and thanked him for the clear and constant support of Moldova in the last period, granted on behalf of EPP as well from him in person.
At his turn, Siegfried Mureşan reiterated the EU's readiness to maintain and strengthen cooperation on various issues of common interest, and specified that there have happened many positive things recently, such as justice system cleansing processes. The deputy head of EPP group noted how important it is to maintain interest in Moldova and urged members of EP to make as many visits to Moldova as possible.
The officials also discussed identifying new opportunities for advancing cooperation in priority areas.
