Moldovan premier meets member of European parliament

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ – On Wednesday, Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, had a meeting with the member of European Parliament in Confederal Group of European United/Left Nordic Green and member of the Parliamentary commission of Association EU – Moldova, Helmut Scholz, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
In the dialogue, the officials discussed the implemented reforms to advance the European path of Moldova and PM Maia Sandu reiterated her appreciation for constant support offered by European Parliament for preservation of democracy in Moldova.
At his turn, Helmut Scholz said that he has supported political pluralism and consolidation of democracy in Moldova. Also, the official said he had been following the situation of political prisoners in Moldova, condemned during the previous regime.
The parties also agreed on the need to monitor financial resources provided by EU so that money can be used efficiently, correctly and without abuses.
