Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ – About 1,300 young persons will be able to continue their studies in the field of dual vocational education system in the year of studies 2019 – 2020. The figures were presented on Thursday, 25 July, by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Sergiu Harea.
Thus, there have been requested 1,300 positions by over 95 companies, in cooperation with 30 technical vocational education institutions. In 2019, the admission to vocational schools takes place on 15 July – 24 August 2019, and in colleges and Centres of Excellence – 15 July – 10 August 2019.
Sergiu Harea has stated that the number of pupils admitted in dual – training programmes has been increasing. Thus, if in 2014, when it was launched this form of training, there was only 01 vocational school and 01 company involved in the programme, which had 32 apprentices, then in 2018 – 2019, there have been enrolled almost 1,100 pupils in dual – training programmes at 70 companies and 26 educational institutions.
The head of CCI has added that dual education is a "school without unemployment", as around 90 per cent of apprentices manage to fiind a job on the labour market after finishing studies.
The dual vocational education is a special way of education and training. The education and training responsibilities are shared between the dual partners: company (workplace) and education institution. Thus, the pupils receive structured practical training in the company, while the theory is assimilated at the educational institution. The apprentice pupils sign an "apprenticeship agreement" with the economic agent, on the basis of which they receive salary.
