Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ – Ex – Prime Minister, Iurie Leanca, has come up with a response to a request by the parliamentary commission of investigation to elucidate all circumstances of the devaluation of Moldovan banking system to start criminal prosecution on the actions/inactions of several persons with public dignity.

"I find that this "inquiry commission" has one objective: "validation" of unfounded and denigrating political accusations for years against me. It is not interested in the evidence, arguments and probes presented by me, as it does not even want to elucidate what had happened in the banking system," said in a statement to press, Iurie Leanca.

The ex – PM wonders if "is not it the interference of judiciary in law when a group of MPs, without even finalising the report, give directions to the General Prosecutor's Office to open a criminal case."

Iurie Leanca added that he wants bank fraud to be elucidated, stating that he was the one which called on Kroll to investigate the theft in the banking system.

The Parliamentary commission of investigation to elucidate all the circumstances of the devaluation of the banking system in Moldova and bank fraud investigation called for initiation of criminal prosecution on the actions/inactions of several persons with public dignity, including ex – Prime Minister, Iurie Leanca. It was announced by the head of Commission, Alexandru Slusari, on Thursday, 25 July.
