Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The spring-summer session of the parliament will end on 31 July 2019 and the MPs will go on leave as of 1 August. The lawmakers are to return to work on 2 September. At the same time, on this period, the parliament might convene at an extraordinary session, in order to approve certain draft laws.
At the end of the parliament meeting today, Parliament Speaker Zinaida said that the lawmakers were to convene at plenary meetings on 30 and 31 July. At these meetings, the MPs are to consider more drafts, including the one on the rectification of the state budget for this year.
At the same time, the lawmakers might hold an extraordinary session in next August. “Even if we close the session on 31 July, there will be more issues we will have to approve. We had enough time for rest – during three months, the parliament was not functional; therefore, we will also hold extraordinary meetings, during which we will consider draft laws on the good work of the state. Starting from 12 August, it is recommended that all MPs are on the spot already,” Zinaida Grecianii said.
Under the Constitution, the spring-summer session of the parliament starts in February and cannot exceed the end of July. At the same time, the parliament can also hold extraordinary or special sessions, at a request by the head of state, parliament speaker or one third of the MPs.
