Moldovan foreign affairs minister, Austrian ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu and Austria’s Ambassador to Moldova Christine Freilinger today discussed the strengthening of the political dialogue and the Moldovan-Austrian relations through the inauguration of a Honorary Consulate of Austria in the northern Balti city, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The two officials tackled the entire spectrum of subjects on the bilateral agenda and spoke out for identifying new sectors of cooperation, in order to boost the dialogue between Moldova and Austria. “We are interested in further maintaining a positive dynamic of the Moldovan-Austrian cooperation in multiple fields,” Minister Nicu Popescu said.
For her part, Ambassador Christine Freilinger stressed that “the excellent relations between Moldova and Austria would be fostered also through the opening of a Honorary Consulate of Austria in Balti.”
According to the sides, the enhancement of the Austrian diplomacy’s presence in Moldova would offer new valences to the bilateral relations and would lead to the initiation of new joint projects in the economic, investment and cultural sectors.
