Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ – There are to be held elections in 03 constituencies on 20 October 2019. The decision has been taken by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) at its meeting on Monday, 29 July.

The mandates of MP became vacant after the Parliament took notice of resignations of 03 MPs elected in the aforementioned constituencies in the elections of 24 February 2019. They are: Andrei Nastase, Viorel Melnic and Maia Sandu. Andrei Nastase and Maia Sandu gave up their mandates because of the incompatibility of positions, and Viorel Melnic submitted his resignation, stating that "in the Parliament elected by the mixed electoral system, the independent MP is limited in possibilities."
