Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/ – The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has announced for 16 August a public meeting during which there will be examined and approved the distribution tariffs and regulated electricity supply prices.
In public meeting, it will be examined and approved the tariffs for electricity distribution and regulated prices for electricity supply, provided by RED Union Fenosa and Gas Natural Fenosa Energy Supply, as well as RED Nord and Electricity Supply Nord.
Gas Natural Fenosa Furnizare Energie SRL requested a tariff for the energy supplied to population of MDL 1.94/kWh or 8.6 per cent more than the tariff in force, respectively MDL 1.79/kWh. The company from the north of Moldova requested an increase by 22.46 per cent of tariff, up to MDL 2.34/kWh, compared to the current tariff of MDL 1.91/kWh.
The draft decision has not been published yet, but, previously, Octavian Calmic, director of ANRE, has declared that ANRE proposes for examination in public hearing the increase by 3.2 per cent, up to MDL 1.85/kWh to the electricity provided by Gas Natural Fenosa Furnizare Energie SRL Also, ANRE proposes for an examination in public session an increase by 14.9 per cent, up to MDL 2.19/kWh of the electricity tariff provided by company SA Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord.
The adjustment of the tariffs is necessary to cover the price increases of the imported electricity, production costs, negative financial deviations accumulated during 2019 and ensure the sustainability of deliveries and payments in sector. During 2019, the most sensitive and unstable indicator was the exchange rate, which has seen the largest fluctuations in appreciation and depreciation in recent years. Therefore, under the policy of BNM, it was proposed to use the exchange rate established according to the Budget Law (LB) for 2019. The state budget (BS) was built on an exchange rate of MDL 17.2 for $1.
The recent adjustment of the tariffs for electricity was operated by ANRE on 15 June 2018, when it was decided, after debates in public meeting, to reduce on average 10 per cent of tariff on electricity. The price for electricity supplied by Gas Natural Fenosa Energy Supply to domestic consumers was set at MDL 1.79 for 01 kWh, compared to previous one of MDL 1.99. For domestic consumers in the north of Moldova, customers of company Electric Power Supply Nord have the tariff of was reduced from MDL 2.12 for 01 kWh to MDL 1.91.
