New secretary of supreme security council appointed in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/ – The brigadier general in reserve Victor Gaiciuc was appointed on Monday, 12 August, by the head of state, Igor Dodon, as adviser to the President of Moldova in the field of national defence and security, secretary of the Supreme Security Council (CSS).
In a post on his official page, Igor Dodon stated that he trusted "the ability of Gaiciuc to guarantee efficiency in the activity of Council and contribute to strengthening the defence and national security sector".
The head of state announced that CSS will meet later this week to discuss issues of major importance to society.
Victor Gaiciuc is 62 years old and he has held several leadership positions in the Ministry of Defence (MA), including that of deputy Minister and Minister of Defence. Subsequently, Gaiciuc acted as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Moldova to Belgium and Representative of Moldova to NATO.
