Chisinau, 14 August /MOLDPRES/ – The draft law for approval of the National Development Strategy Moldova – 2030, voted in December 2018, will be withdrawn from Parliament, according to a decision approved on Wednesday, 14 August, by Government. On 14 December 2018, the Strategy was adopted by Parliament, but it was not promulgated by President on the grounds that the legislature was at the end of its mandate.
President, Igor Dodon, considered judiciously that the prerogative to adopt such a Strategy should be left to the legislature elected after the election of 24 February 2019, and the key elements of the Governance Programme of the new Government to be found in the National Development Strategy (SND) Moldova – 2030.
"In view of investment of the new Government, the adoption of its Governance Programme and the process of elaborating the Government Action Plan, it is considered appropriate to withdraw SND Moldova 2030 from Parliament in order to adjust it to the new political vision, endorsement of all responsible and involved factors in implementation of provisions of respective Strategy with subsequent promotion according to procedures in force”, states the informative note to the Government decision.
