Future class project to be extended to 20 more high schools of Moldova

Chisinau, 14 August /MOLDPRES/ – More 20 high schools from all over Moldova will join the Future Class project. Within them, there will be set up learning spaces equipped with flexible furniture and modern digital equipment, and teachers will be able to apply innovative and interactive teaching methods in educational process.
The representatives of 20 high schools have come to Chisinau today to discover the new equipment and technologies that they will be able to use during the hours starting with the new year of studies. These include in particular robotics sets, programmable drones, electric circuits, virtual reality glasses and digital microscopes.
As a result of expansion of project, over 16,000 pupils studying in 20 selected high schools will have access to flexible learning spaces and enjoy over 30 types of digital technologies and equipment, and lessons will be held in a practical and interactive way.
The representative of Competitiveness project in Moldova, Ionela Titirez, has specified that each educational institution will receive MDL 120,000 for endowments and furnishing of "classes of the future", while the involved schools will cover the repair costs.
The Future Class project aims to create favourable conditions for transformation of education, offering an open and inspirational learning space with interdisciplinary and innovative pedagogical approaches, by using digital technologies that favour the pupil – centred learning process. The project started in 2017 and involved 11 high schools throughout Moldova at initial stage.
The Future Class project is a public – private partnership of the Government of Moldova, Competitiveness Project of Moldova funded by USAID, Government of Sweden and UK aid, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) and a foundation created by a mobile operator of Moldova. The value of investments in it exceeds MDL 12 mln (over €610,000), out of which over MDL 05 mln come from central and local public budget.
