Waste incineration to be allowed in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/ – The incineration of waste on the territory of Moldova will be carried out under rigorously controlled conditions. It was adopted a draft law on it by Parliament, on Thursday, 15 August.

According to project, it will be strictly regulated the location of incineration and co – incineration plants in Moldova, and their design, construction and operation will be carried out in accordance with the norms in construction and based on the permissive environmental acts established by legislation.

It will only be allowed the incineration and co – incineration of waste within the units authorised by the Agency of Environment (AM). Also, the legislative amendments provide that the air and water emissions from incineration and co – incineration installations of the waste do not exceed the emission limit values provided by the normative acts.

Also, it will be prohibited incineration or co – incineration of used, whole and cut tires on the territory of Moldova.
