Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- The parliament decision on approval of the lifting of parliamentary immunity of MP Ilan Shor was published today in the Official Journal.
At the 15 August parliamentary session, the MPs admitted the request of acting Prosecutor Dumitru Robu on lifting of the parliamentary immunity of Ilan Shor.
According to the interim Prosecutor's request, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office started criminal investigations in 2014 and 2019. Under investigation is the multitude of actions of a group of persons, aimed at robbing the Moldovan banking system in 2010 – 2014 through theft of funds in especially large amounts of assets of Savings Bank, Social Bank and Unibank, and committing other criminal acts to achieve personal and group interests.
During the criminal prosecution, evidence was found pointing that Shor committed offense provided by the Criminal Code - abuse of office, committed by the manager of a bank in the interest of an organized criminal group or a criminal organization.
