Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- The parliament decision to amend article 2 of the Parliament Decision No48/2019 on setting up the commission on investigating circumstances on unconstitutional coup attempt carried out by the Democratic Party via the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor General's Office was published today in the Official Journal of Moldova.

Thus, the period of 60 days, indicated in the document will be changed to 120 days.

According to the informative note of the decision, the deadline should be extended after any responses from authorities were not addressed to the Commission of Inquiry, and the members of the commission failed to hear all people who hold or could have information on subject of investigation.

The commission of inquiry was set up by the parliament on June 18 and is headed by MPs Vladimir Turcan and Mihai Popșoi. Secretary is Dinu Plingau. The commission also includes MPs Grigore Novac and Victor Gaiciuc. The factions of PDM and Shor Party failed to delegate members to its membership.
