Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- During the Diaspora Days 2019 organized by the government of the Republic of Moldova, Prime Minister Maia Sandu met with citizens who attended the event, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The talks were focused on issues as foreign investments in Moldova and how safe they are, flight routes in Europe, recycling and the general situation of the environment, administrative decentralization, facilitating the process of donations to Customs and the lack of capacity of local public authorities to attract investments.
Prime Minister Maia Sandu said that the government aims, firstly, to create a functioning justice system, so that people will want to invest and create businesses without fear that they will be illegally taken over.
At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that another goal of the government is to create an economic system favorable to business development: “We must create conditions for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, especially in rural areas. We try to come up with this equity in society. We need to strategically create jobs in the regions. The government’s goal is to improve the investment system,” Sandu said.
Another topic was the decentralization of projects with external support so that local public authorities can benefit directly from donors.
During the event, the Prime Minister proposed the creation of a working group to operate online, where representatives of the diaspora will be able to exchange ideas and come up with proposals to solve existing problems.
Diaspora members said they are ready to volunteer to carry out information campaigns and involvement in solving various problems in the country.
