Amount of subsidies requested by farmers increased by 35%

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/- Over 2,400 applications for agricultural subsidies amounted to 458.3 million lei have been received by the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), from the beginning of the year until now. The number of applications increased by 7% compared to the same period of the previous year, and the amount of subsidies - by 35%.

Out of the total applications, AIPA authorized for payment over 1,600 files, worth 251 million lei.

At the same time, the value of the investments declared by the agricultural producers is up 22.2%, amounting to about 1.58 billion lei, which generated the creation of 472 new jobs and 761 seasonal jobs.

Most farmers applied for subsidies for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment, registering 978 applications, in the amount of 108.5 million lei. For the establishment, the modernization of the multi-annual plantations and the clearing of the non-productive ones, 779 applications amounting to 120 million lei were submitted. As a result, 2004 ha of multi-annual plantations were set up. Another key area in which the subsidies were requested is the development of the post-harvesting and processing infrastructure, where 204 applications for funding amounting to 158 million lei were registered during the reference period.

For the modernization of the zootechnical sector, 89 financing applications were submitted, of which 75 applications for stimulating investments in the renovation of zootechnical farms and 14 applications for the procurement of livestock animals, being modernized 73 zootechnical farms.

At the same time, this year 45 million lei was granted for advance grants for young farmers and women farmers who will launch new projects in the agricultural sector for the first time. In this respect, until now, 62 investment projects have been selected and evaluated for financing. The state contribution to their development will be over 33.4 million lei.

The national fund for the development of agriculture and rural environment is 900 million lei.
