World premiere of documentary film shot in Moldova takes place in Sarajevo

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/ – The world premiere of the documentary film shot in Moldova: Gradina Sovietica (Soviet Garden), directed by Dragos Turea, took place on Sunday, 18 August, at the 25th Film Festival in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to organisers, this film participates in the official contest in the documentary category and competes for trophy the Heart of Sarajevo City.
While investigating the mysterious death of his grandmother, Dragos, a director from Moldova, discovers a secret scientific experiment. Dragos reveals the secret plan of ex – Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev to transform Moldova into the Soviet garden for application of atomic energy to local agriculture.
It is a premiere when a feature – length documentary, with an authentic subject of Moldova, is selected to participate in the Sarajevo Festival, organised under patronage of UNESCO. The audience showed an increased interest in the documentary subject, shot in Moldova, and after the film ended, it took place hot discussions.
The documentary was made with the support of the National Centre of Cinematography (CNC) of Moldova, National Centre of Cinematography (CNC) of Romania and TVR – Television Society Romania (SRT). The film takes 01 hour and 15 minutes.
