Moldovan foreign minister says enhancement export quotas in EU to help to increase living level of people

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/ – The current state of the Moldovan – EU bilateral relations, the financial assistance provided to Moldova by EU, implementation of reforms, as well as agenda of the EU – Moldova meetings were discussed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, with the head of the Delegation of EU, Peter Michalko, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
In the context of discussions on trade with EU, minister Nicu Popescu stressed that "increasing export quotas for Moldovan agricultural products in EU will contribute to creation of new secure jobs, increasing wages and living standards of people".
The interlocutors examined the progress of implementation of reforms in different sectors, as well as ambitious plans to be made by Moldova in the future together with the European partners, including elaboration of the new association agenda, preparation for upcoming meeting of the EU – Moldova Association Council as well as bilateral contacts to take place in the next period.
Also, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy thanked ambassador Peter Michalko for the financial support and counseling in various fields that EU grants to Moldova.
