12 foreign journalists visit country to discover Moldovan wine

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/- A number of 12 foreign journalists, representatives of the world-renowned wine press, visit Moldova on the eve of the 18th edition of the National Wine Day.
For a few days, on August 19-23, 2019, journalists will learn about Moldovan Wine and millennial traditions in winemaking, after which they will visit several wineries in the country.
The director of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV), Gheorghe Arpentin, presented to the guests the history of the Moldovan wine and specifics of the Republic of Moldova as a wine country. He said that the visit of foreign journalists was organized to present our country and the wine sector, so that they can know the Moldovan wine and the people who work in the vineyards and produce Moldovan wine.
"We invited foreign journalists to present the qualitative changes that took place in the Republic of Moldova, to present our country, the opportunities of wine tourism and specifics of Moldovan wine. They will be able to see the diversity of the wine and meet the people who make the wine. Journalists will visit several wineries throughout the country, will have meetings with winemakers, so that from the first source to see how our wine sector lives. Guests will also discover the gastronomy of our country,” he said.
The 12 journalists come from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, Belgium and France.
The ONVV aims to make the summit of foreign journalists a tradition.
There are 187 wineries registered in the Wine Register of the Republic of Moldova. Recently, the ONVV announced that the record harvest of grapes, registered in the Republic of Moldova in the wine year 2018-2019, has climbed our country in Top-20 world producers.
