Moldovan authorities to apply additional measures to streamline border traffic in late August

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ – The authorities will implement several additional actions to streamline traffic at the border crossing points with Ukraine, where, in late August, the number of passengers increases, according to the experience of previous years.
Thus, in upcoming fortnight, many of citizens of Moldova will spend on the Black Sea coast the minivacation occasioned by the national holidays, but they will also go shopping in Ukraine, in the context of preparations for the new school year. Under these terms, the authorities estimate a significant increase in the number of passengers and means of transport at crossing points Palanca, Tudora, Criva, Otaci, Mirnoe and Giurgiulesti – Reni.
According to an analysis of statistical data of recent days, but also compared to previous years, the busiest periods are at the beginning of the week and on weekends, and most intense traffic is registered in the morning, at 06:00 – 09:00, in the afternoon (16:00 – 18:00) and late evening (20:00 – 22:00).
Under these conditions, the Border Police (PF) recommends that travellers avoid the busiest border crossing points and opt for the others situated nearby. Thus, on the Criva common border crossing points (PTF), it is shared Larga common PTF or Briceni common PTF, near Otaci PTF, it is Ocnita PTF, Mirnoe PTF, it is Vulcanesti PTF, and closer to Giurgiulesti – Reni PTF, it is Cismichioi PTF.
Also, before starting the journey, the travellers are urged to consult online application through which it can be viewed average waiting time of all crossing points. Similarly, the Green Line of General Inspectorate of Border Police (IGPF) activates non – stop, and citizens can call 022 – 259 – 717, as to obtain info on rules and conditions for crossing the state border (FS), but also situation at crossing points.
The authorities provide assurances that they will take all necessary measures to prevent border queues. The actions to be implemented include the increase of the number of employees at most requested points and opening to circulation of all lanes, including application of procedure Reverse.
