Moldovan electoral body announces start of registration of candidates in parliamentary elections

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission announced that on 21 August, the nomination and registration of candidates for the new parliamentary elections of October 20, in the uninominal electoral districts No17, 33, 48 and 50.
In order to be registered, the candidate for the uninominal constituency will have to submit, together with the documents provided by the normative framework, subscription lists containing the signatures of at least 500 and at most 1000 supporters with voting rights in the uninominal constituency, where they intend to apply. Women who would like to apply will be able to register if they present the signatures of at least 250 and at most 500 supporters.
For the registration of the initiative group, the candidate for the MP position will submit personally, at the latest 50 days before the election day, to the constituency council several documents, including the registration application and the list of the members of the initiative group.
Within 3 days from the receipt of the documents, the uninominal electoral district electoral council will verify their correctness and will decide on the registration or refusal to register the initiative group.
The documents of registration of the candidates will be submitted to the electoral councils of the uninominal constituencies. The deadline for submitting documents for the registration of initiative groups to support the candidates for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is 30 August inclusive.
