Moldova's southern regional development agency sets new priorities for project Cahul Industrial Park

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ – The project of sustainable development of Cahul Industrial Park (PIC), as a support structure for businesses of regional importance, was examined, on Tuesday, 20 August, by the Southern Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud). During the monitoring visit, the specialists of the institution requested the necessary financial contributions from the local authorities and established work plans for upcoming period.
ADR Sud gathered in Cahul all the involved parties, which analised the necessary measures for successful accomplishment of expected works. Thus, it was discussed about the necessity of identifying, by project beneficiary, another earth quarry for vertical systematisation works. It was also the task of the beneficiary to ask the designer to identify the solutions to overcome the inconsistencies that appeared in execution process between the project documentation and the situation on the ground.
Similarly, the specialists of the Agency requested from Cahul district council the contribution of about MDL 136,000, necessary to complete the gasification works. Also, the construction company, which acts as a general contractor, must submit within the established terms the updated schedule of execution of the works planned for 2019, in the amount of allocated amount.
Project: Sustainable development of PIC as a support structure for businesses of regional importance, implemented by ADR Sud, is funded by the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR). Its value is about MDL 21 mln, of which the amount of MDL 20 mln is allocated from FNDR and the sum of over MDL 850,000 represents the contribution of Cahul district council. For 2019, for the development of the works within the mentioned project, it has been allocated an amount of MDL 03 mln from FNDR.
The creation of PIC will have a direct impact upon economic development and increase of the industrialisation level of the south of Moldova. It is expected to attract direct investments in the region of almost MDL 103 mln and create at least 440 new jobs by the end of 5th year of its activity.
