120 children from diaspora, Moldova participate in DOR Program 2019

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/- 120 children from diaspora and from the Republic of Moldova participate in the government program DOR - Diaspora * Origins * Returns 2019, which was launched on 21 August.
Children from the Republic of Moldova, Greece, Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Ireland, France, Georgia, Spain, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Norway, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, Netherlands and Serbia participate in DOR 2019, on August 19-28.
The children will be involved in creative, sporting, artistic, linguistic, knowledge of history and culture, cultural visits and meetings with different personalities from the country.
Opening the event, Minster of Education, Culture and Research Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei urged participants at the summer camp to spend nice and useful time, bonding with new friends and finding out interesting things about their parents' country of origin, national traditions and customs.
DOR is an initiative of the government of Moldova and consists of organizing an annual summer program for children in diaspora and those in Moldova. The program aims to strengthen the emotional, cultural and identity connections of young people with their country of origin. The first edition of the DOR took place in 2013.
