Thirty six constituencies of level II to be set at elections on 20 October in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – At the polls on 20 October, there will be set 36 constituencies of level II. A decision has been adopted on it, on Thursday, 22 August, by the Central Election Commission /CEC/. The document has not been endorsed by all members of CEC.
At the meeting start, two members of CEC came up with the proposal that the number of constituencies should be increased to facilitate the access to the voting process of the citizens from the left bank of the Dniester river. The proposal was not supported, and for CEC's decision providing for the establishment of 36 constituencies, there voted 06 members of CEC.
At the local elections on 20 October 2019, there will be elected 898 mayors and 11,580 local councilors, out of which 1,108 district/municipal and 10,472 village and city ones. On similar day, the residents of districts №№17, 33, 48 and 50 will be awaited at polls to elect MPs.
