Central electoral commission summons into meeting in Moldova

Chisinau, 02 September /MOLDPRES/ – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has summoned into meeting, on Monday, 02 September. There were included more topics on agenda.
Thus, the CEC has decided to dismiss some members of the electoral councils, on 02 September – 22 October, from the duties of permanent place of work and convene during the activity in the composition of electoral councils of the electoral constituencies of level II, constituted for organisation and conduct the general local elections (ALG) on 20 October 2019.
Also, the CEC has approved the staff of devices of the electoral councils of the electoral districts of level II, constituted for organisation and conduct of ALG.
The IIIrd topic examined by CEC has referred to amendment of Regulation on the status of observers and their accreditation procedure. CEC member, Vladimir Sarban, has said the changes were proposed following a request submitted to CEC by Promo – Lex Association, which would consider that existing procedure for accrediting observers would be difficult and bureaucratic. As a result, the CEC has amended the provision governing the submission of observer accreditation applications. Similarly, there were made changes to provision upon prohibition for observers to make electoral agitation in favour or to detriment of electoral competitors.
