"In the performances, there are involved renowned artists. We have artists from Moldova, who have made a career abroad, and the well – known artists from other states. We are glad that this year the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) has been able to support the festival with an amount of about MDL 1.5 mln. We hope that these events will follow their course in some other issues. This festival is a tribute to Maria Bieșu, the one who initiated this cultural event in 1990, for all she has done for the culture of Moldova. It is also a serious cultural project, important for MECC and, we hope, for the whole community,” specified Liliana Nicolaescu – Onofrei.

Another performance is Bal Mascat, in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, restored and restaged by Italian director, Andreea Battistini, in the scenography of master Iurie Matei. I am glad that this year in performance Norma, there is Diana Axenti, a graduate of the Conservatory of Paris and established in this city. Next to us will be conductor, Alexandru Samoila, who is the basis of this festival and, of course, conductor, Alexei Baklan from Kiev, Ukraine, with whom we have a fruitful collaboration”, said Nicolae Dohotaru.
