Data of medical leave certificates to be recorded on online platform

Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection released today the portal for medical leave certificates. The data from the medical certificates will be registered here and will be transmitted to the National House of Social Insurance, which, starting July 1, 2019, calculates and pays the benefits for temporary incapacity for work.

Thus, patients will continue to receive medical leave certificates on paper, which they will present to the employer. The data on these certificates will be set out on the platform by the medical-sanitary institutions, so that later the information can be used by CNAS.

Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Ala Nemerenco said that its use aims to establish a mechanism of records and a systemic control over the payment method for the temporary incapacity for work allowance.

From 1 July 2019, new procedures for calculating and paying temporary disability benefits are applied. According to them, the employer will establish, calculate and pay, from his own financial means, the compensation for temporary incapacity for work caused by common illnesses or accidents not related to work for the first five calendar days of temporary incapacity for work. Starting with the sixth day, the allowance will be calculated and determined by the Territorial Social Insurance Houses.
