Chisinau, 04 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, has said at the Government meeting, on Wednesday, 04 September, that several businesses are refusing to pay bank loans taken from the three banks that were involved in the theft of the billion. "It is a worrying fact," said PM.
"There are companies that go to court to be exempted (in whole or in part) from the payment of bank loans to the three banks that were involved in bank theft. And these companies have the guts to say that because these banks were involved in thefts, they would no longer have to repay the money they borrowed several years ago. The citizens know very well how these debts were formed and how these three banks were liquidated, on one hand, because part of loans were not repaid, and, on the other hand, because of thefts. Now, probably, there are economic agents which believe that the citizens have taken over the burden anyway and, therefore, they do not have to return the debts”, said Maia Sandu.
The Premier has appealed to courts, saying she hopes they are aware of the liability and make the decisions according to the law "and will not be involved in other thieves and abusive decisions".
