Adjustments to state budget for 2019 adopted in final reading by parliament of Moldova

Chisinau, 04 September /MOLDPRES/ – On Wednesday, 04 September, the Parliament has adopted, in final reading, amendments to the Law of the state budget (BS) for 2019. Thus, the revenues of the state budget will constitute MDL 40,633,531,5 thousand, and expenses – MDL 46,336,817.6 thousand, with a deficit in the amount of MDL 5,703,286.1 thousand.
The draft law was adopted with the vote of 54 MPs. It provides for the decrease of revenues by MDL 1 billion 492.0 million, of expenses – by MDL 1 billion 327.4 million. Under these terms, the budget deficit will increase by MDL 164.6 million.
The project adjusts the budgetary indicators to the revenue, expenditure and budget deficit, starting from the reestimation of forecasts to the main macroeconomic indicators and trends in execution of BS in Ist semester of 2019, revision of expenditure programmes, as well as unlocking of financing support from donors.
The head of the Commission of economy, budget and finance, Igor Munteanu, has declared at the sitting of Parliament that the project reflects the vision of MPs and the Ministry of Finance (MF).
The execution of the national public budget in the first six months of 2019 ended with a deficit of MDL 2,105.1 million or 1.01 per cent in GDP, given that the budget deficit target for 2019 was set at 2.74 per cent of GDP.
