Moldovan SP discusses with first deputy chairman of CIS Commission of State Duma of Russia

Chisinau, 05 September /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, has met, on Thursday, 05 September, with the first deputy Chairman of the Commission on Business with CIS, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots of the State Duma of Russia, Konstantin Zatulin, accompanied by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Moldova, Oleg Vasnetsov. The meeting was attended by MP Vladimir Golovatiuc, chairman of the Public Finance Control Commission, a member of the Friendship Group with Russia, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The officials discussed the existing stage of Moldovan – Russian cooperation at interparliamentary level, as well as in commercial – economic, investment, migration domains, etc.

The positive evolution of the relations of the Republic of Moldova with the Russian Federation - one of the most important external partners of our country was noted. At the same time, the interlocutors mentioned that there is a large volume of work to be carried out in bilateral cooperation, especially in the commercial and humanitarian one. In this context, the parties agreed to resume the plenary activity of the Cooperation Commission between the Parliaments of Moldova and Russia.

As a member of the Governmental Commission for Migration Policy, Konstantin Zatulin has advocated activating the dialogue in regulating issues on migrant workers. "The issues related to labour migration, depoliticisation of procedures for Moldovan citizens working in Russia are very important on our agenda," said the Russian official.

SP Zinaida Greceanii thanked the Russian official for his constructive stance on this important issue. "We want to create the best working conditions in Moldova. Also, no one can prevent the migration of labour force, which is why the authorities of Moldova are concerned about issues such as social protection, working conditions and those related to the stay of our citizens in Russia,” said SP.

In conclusion, Zinaida Greceanii and Konstantin Zatulin have noted that the positive changes within Moldovan – Russian dialogue are for the benefit of citizens of Moldova and Russia.

"The relations between our people have been built up for centuries, which is why the authorities must follow the path founded by our people," said Zinaida Greceanii.
