UNO reconfirms support of Moldova

Chisinau, 05 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, on Thursday, 05 September, has met with the assistant of UN Secretary – General for Political Affairs, Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping Operations, Miroslav Jenča. The officials have discussed the intensification of strategic dialogue, bilateral collaboration in the areas of common interest, but also about existing challenges of Government, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Also, the parties have noted the developments in various fields, PM Maia Sandu stressing the importance of rapid implementation of reforms that will benefit the citizens. "We shall appreciate your support in focusing UN attention on implementing justice reforms, prosecutorial reform, but also fighting corruption, ensure independence of state institutions and restore confidence of people in them," said PM.
At his turn, assistant UN Secretary – General, Miroslav Jenča, has reiterated the openness to continue cooperation with the Government of Moldova, as well as provide assistance to Moldova within domains of competence.
