Foreign minister meets head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Chisinau, 05 September /MOLDPRES/ – The need for full and unconditional withdrawal from the territory of Moldova of Russian troops and ammunition stored in the Cobasna warehouses remains a priority for Moldova. The statement has been made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, during the meeting with the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Claus Neukirch, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
During the meeting, it has been made an exchange of views on the developments in the Transnistrian settlement process and the measures to be undertaken in perspectives.
Minister Nicu Popescu has specified that the full and unconditional withdrawal from the territory of Moldova of Russian military troops and ammunition stored in the warehouses in Cobasna remains a priority for Moldova.
The interlocutors were also supportive in the fact that the process of using/destroying the ammunition stored in Cobasna must take place under the international supervision of the OSCE for maximum transparency and purpose, as well as with the involvement of participants of format 5+2.
