Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities of the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA Gagauz-Yeri) have earmarked one million lei for the cleaning of the Ialpug river, according to the mayor of Comrat (Gagauz administrative centre), Serghei Anastasov, who referred to this subject at the regional TV channel.

The Ialpug river, which flows through the Comrat city, is full of waste landfills, which cause more problems to local residents: unpleasant smell nearby, flooding of cellars, etc.

According to Serghei Anastasov, the local authorities started the works of sanitation, widening and deepening of the river. The Comrat city hall prepared a draft, within which all needed actions will be carried out.

„The means have been allocated from the autonomy’s the regional budget, about one million lei, as well as from the Comrat city hall’s budget. All works are planned for 2019,” the Comrat mayor specified, quoted by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.

Next year, the executive committee of UTA Gagauz-Yeri will finance the cleaning of the Ialpug river also on the territory of other settlements, through which the river flows.
