Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Maia Sandu and Joseph Daul, President of the European People's Party, visited today the University Center for Simulation in Medical Education (CUSIM), a project supported by the European Union, with a budget of about 4.4 million euros. The money was used for the reconstruction of the headquarters and its endowment with modern medical training equipment, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
CUSIM is a subdivision of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testemitanu and represents one of the most performing simulation centers in the East-European region, due to a wide range of medical compartments, for which professional training is offered. Thus, the Center contributes to increasing medical standards in our country and patient safety.
In this context, Daul congratulated the authorities of our country for this successful project and said that the main concern of the European institutions is that the money they offer to other countries really serve the citizens.
"Health and education are the areas in which we must invest. And after that, we also need to focus on the field of justice and ensure a fair justice for all citizens. For this reason, we will resume the financing that was stopped to Moldova, will be project oriented financing. Come up with project ideas and we'll fund them, " the official said.
"We see a project that is sustainable over time, with concrete results. It is an Innovation Center for the region in general, not just for the Republic of Moldova and we thank the European institutions for such projects. We together with Minister of Health and Social Protection have new project ideas, we want to build two new hospitals: one in the north and another in the south of the Republic of Moldova. We can draw on this experience and we will continue to rely on EU support, ”said Prime Minister Maia Sandu.
CUSIM has started its activity since 2013, and so far over 40 thousand students, resident doctors and employees from other fields, including from neighboring countries, have been trained within the Center.
