Moldovan, UN officials approach UN assistance areas for Moldova

Chisinau, 6 september /MOLDPRES/- Today Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi had a meeting with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča, head of a delegation on an official visit to Moldova, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The officials discussed Moldova’s cooperation with the UN in priority areas, such as sustainable development, human rights, increasing the efficiency of governance, fighting corruption, etc.
Greceanii thanked the UN which, along with other international organizations and external partners, supported the parliamentary majority in Moldova. This international consensus justifies the balanced foreign policy, promoted by the Moldovan authorities.
Miroslav Jenča reiterated the UN support for the parliamentary majority, noting that this achievement is important for the successful promotion of reforms in all areas, especially in human rights, women's equality, climate change etc.
"The consensus of political forces in Moldova shows that there is a willingness to work here to successfully implement reforms and change people's lives for the better," the UN official said.
The sides spoke in favor of identifying new priority areas of assistance and coordination with other international donors.
"With each family helped, the Republic of Moldova becomes more prosperous, and it is a great honor for us to enjoy the UN support in this goal," Greceanii said.
