Fountain from south Moldova autonomy's village to be restored

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The central fountain from the Besalma settlement, Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) Gagauz-Yeri, will be restored. The works are scheduled to be completed till late September and the fountain will start working after a break of 25 years.
„This fountain will be one of the attractions of our village. We set LED illumination; we will also arrange the nearby park, playgrounds for children and the sports field. Next year, we plan also other reconstruction works. We would like this to be a loved leisure area for the local residents,” the Besalma mayor, Valeri Mos, has said, quoted by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.
According to the mayor, the fountain will work daily on the period March-November. The spending for the object’s maintenance will be covered from the local budget.
The fountain from Besalma is the biggest reservoir of this kind on the territory of the Gagauz autonomy; yet, it has not worked for more years. The fountain was constructed back in the Soviet period, but it worked only for a few days and then was closed for technical reasons.
The construction has a diameter of more than 12 metres. As much as 150,000 lei was allocated from the village budget to restore the fountain and another 40,000 lei was received by the mayoralty within a project.
