Moldovan PM attends opening of America Days event

Chisinau, 06 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, has attended, on the evening of Friday, 06 September, at event: America Days, organised in premier by the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. On this occasion, the PM has welcomed the idea of organising it, specifying upon the importance of maintaining close cooperation, which has been developing successfully for almost 03 decades between the United States of America and Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
"The current event is an excellent opportunity to learn about the concrete content of bilateral relations, about projects supported for years by the U.S. Government, but also to learn about the culture, history and traditions of the American people. It is an opportunity to reiterate our appreciation for the support we have enjoyed for so many years, since independence, especially when we talk about strengthening democratic processes and institutions, creating and developing economic opportunities. You have always supported us in our path of European integration by upholding democratic values and principles,” said PM Maia Sandu.
Similarly, the chief of Executive stressed the importance of bilateral partnership of Moldova and North Carolina, this year marking 20 years of excellent collaboration between the two states.
At his turn, the U.S. Ambassador to Chisinau, Dereck J. Hogan, noted the tangible results recorded by Moldova as a result of intensification of bilateral relations between the United States of America and Moldova. "Since the independence of Moldova, the USA has invested a lot to contribute to strengthening the economy, fighting corruption and increasing transparency and accountability. Also, I welcome the effort to ensure an impartial justice and I thank everyone for their work in building a better future for Moldovan citizens," said Dereck J. Hogan.
Also, the ambassador accredited to Chisinau urged the citizens of Moldova to participate actively in the local elections (AL) on 20 October, as to continue the path of Moldova towards a viable democracy that reflects the will of people. Also, the official reiterated the U.S. openness in supporting Moldova and its citizens so as to build a prosperous and democratic society.
