Eighty five polling stations to be opened for voters of uninominal district No 50 of Moldova

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 85 polling stations will be opened for voters from the uninominal district No 50, to the west of Moldova, under a decision adopted by the cabinet today.
The draft sees the opening of 27 polling stations at the diplomatic missions and consular officers and 58 additional ones.
Thus, 29 polling stations will be opened in Italy, 12 – in Romania, 7 in France, 5 in Portugal, 5 in Spain, 5 in the United kingdom, 1 in Norway, 2 in Greece, 4 in Germany, 3 in Ireland, 1 in the Czech Republic, 1 in Latvia, 1 in Belgium, 1 in Poland, 1 in Sweden, 1 in Estonia, 1 in Lithuania, 1 in Hungary, 1 in Austria, 1 in Bulgaria, 1 in Switzerland and 1 in the Netherlands.
The number of polling stations from the uninominal district No 50 was established following a comprehensive analysis carried out by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, based on proposals of the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Moldova, depending on the record of the missions and the official data got from the residence states about the number and regional distribution of citizens abroad, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu said at the meeting.
The minister also said that decision-makers had considered and taken into account petitions by the associations of the Moldovan Diaspora from abroad, addressed to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry and Central Electoral Commission, as well as the earlier practice of participation of citizens from abroad in the voting.
Moldova’s citizens from abroad can vote including based on expired acts.
