Moldovan president meets Secretary of State of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ – President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has had a working meeting on Friday, 13 September, with Amélie de Montchalin, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the France, which has paid a visit to Moldova, the presidency’s press service has reported.
The officials addressed the most important issues of the bilateral agenda, mentioning their strategic character. The parties noted the intensification of the dialogue of Moldova and France in more areas of common interest.
The head of state thanked the leadership of France for being one of the first states to express clearly its position on the peaceful transfer of power in Moldova in early summer. Igor Dodon stressed the importance of this support from the most important external partners of Moldova and noted a historical consensus at the national and international levels upon new leadership of Moldova.
Also, the president of Moldova appreciated the dialogue between Moldova and France, including at the level of heads of state. On it, Igor Dodon reminded of 02 personal meetings with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, which took place in 2018. The head of state informed Amélie Montchalin that the discussions during these meetings focused on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and promotion of a balanced external policy of Moldova.
At the end of discussion, Moldovan president has reconfirmed his participation in the second issue of the Peace Forum, which will take place in Paris, in November 2019, the interlocutors agreeing on a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron during this visit.
