Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today gave a speech in the parliament’s plenum. In the speech, he expressed discontent with the work of some ministries and suggested that the parliamentary majority and the cabinet work together to re-define the agenda of priorities, proceeding from the citizens’ social agenda.
According to the head of state, Moldova on this period goes through a complex process of resetting and the governance must be concerned about the interest of all citizens, of the creation and modernization of the state’s institutions, as well as about many other actions dealing with the re-establishment of justice and fairness in the society.
„I am not contented with the way some ministries work, with the lack of coherent policies in the social and economic sectors, the postponing or ceasing of some projects. I think that governance should be made based on a list of priorities which is more solid and closer to the immediate expectations of people. The governance must get out of the euphoria of the first period and get down on earth, to the realities we have. And we must stop always make reference to the problems coming from the past,” Igor Dodon said.
The Moldovan president noted that he was willing “to accept, at any moment, the changes needed in the present structure and composition of the government, in order to enhance the latter’s efficiency.”
The head of state also unveiled several priorities where the parliamentary majority and the cabinet should quickly prove efficiency. Among them, there is the improvement of the living standards, through the increase in salaries and pensions, creation of new jobs, ensuring the economic development, fighting corruption. Igor Dodon also opted for the working out of a national project on roads’ construction, based on a fair and efficient distribution of resources.
According to Dodon, all these priority directions will contribute also to the combating “of the biggest national tragedy our country is facing – the demographic disaster in which we have been finding ourselves for more years.” “The massive exodus of Moldovans is a huge danger to our existence as state itself; this is a danger which, in my capacity of president of Moldova, I declare as one of the principal threats to our country,” Dodon specified.
Igor Dodon had a special message for the opposition MPs, whom he invited “to actively participate in the country’s resetting.”
