Over 1,000 soldiers from Moldova, Romania, USA participate in Fire Shield – 2019

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ – Over 1,000 soldiers from Moldova, Romania and USA participate within international exercise: Fire Shield – 2019, organised on 16 – 20 September 2019, at the Training Centre of the National Army (CIAN).
During the exercise, there are to be trained almost 150 units of military equipment and artillery systems, engineering devices, field vehicles, trucks and flying equipment.
According to the defence ministry’s public relations service, the training aims to prepare the subunits of the National Army and increase interoperability of military in participating states.
The opening ceremony of the exercise has been held today, in the presence of the commander of the National Army, brigadier general, Igor Gorgan.
According to scenario, the military will execute targeted anti – tank rockets, bomb throwers, cannons, anti – tank guns, self – propelled guns, howitzers, anti – tank recoilless guns, anti – aircraft guns, and automatic grenade launchers.
Also, during exercise Fire Shield, it is also planned training of the Armed Forces reservists, which will become familiar with activity, equipment and facilities of military units.
