Council for coordination of anti-corruption policies, justice reform holds first meeting

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/- First meeting of the Council for the coordination of anti-corruption policies and justice reform, chaired by Prime Minister Maia Sandu, was held on 16 September, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
During the meeting, the functionality of the National Agency for Integrity was discussed, as well as other topics of major importance.
The Anti-Corruption Council is a platform for examining systemic and policy issues in preventing and combating corruption and reforming the justice system and for coordinating the efforts between the relevant public authorities in order to successfully implement the adopted policies.
The council includes the Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice and representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Money Laundering and Prevention Service, the General Police Inspectorate, the Customs Service, the State Tax Service, the General Border Police Inspectorate, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, the Information and Security Service, the National Anticorruption Center, the National Integrity Authority, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets.
Priorities and functioning of the council were established at the first meeting. Also, several priority issues of public interest were discussed, the solution of which requires joint effort of central public authorities and law institutions.
